We LOVE Math centers!
Want more information about our centers! You've come to the right place!
Khan Academy
Khan Academy-- aka the "computer zone" is where students log into their individual Khan Academy accounts. Khan Academy enables students to work at their own pace on lessons suggested by me or on lessons suggested by Khan Academy based on their individual needs! The great thing about Khan Academy is the data! Through Khan's data, I can see exactly what students are doing (what they've mastered, what they are struggling with, etc) so that I can further differentiate my instruction!

Project Zone
The project zone, located in the comfort of our classroom library, is a center that enables students to apply math concepts to real life situations. For example, students have worked on creating a plan for their garden (geometry and decimals), restaurant menus (decimals), Zip-around cards (geometry vocabulary), and the Million Dollar Project!

Workout Zone
At the workout zone, students work on worksheets that reinforce concepts they have learned during whole group or small group instructions. These worksheets are leveled to meet the needs of all students in the class!

Game Zone
** Tri-fold picture coming soon**
The Game Zone offers students to reinforce what they have learned in whole/ small group instruction in a fun and meaningful way. A favorite classroom favorite is "munchroom math"; a spiral review game that allows students to practice what they have learned in the beginning of the year and earlier grades! Other games include: "managing my allowance", "geometry hunt", "bean the calculator", etc. |
